Aaron Kotler Speaks For The Jews? - Ami Interview

In a recent article in Ami magazine,  Aaron Kotler CEO of BMG  explained how The VAAD leads our community.

"The Lakewood community has a group of private citizens who represent the community and advocate on its behalf. Although some of us hold positions in non profit institutions our work is on behalf of the general public Not for our institutions."

This statement was a pathetic attempt to dissuade people from the obvious. The VAAD led by Aaron Kotler obviously does not care about the general needs of the community. Just by saying the opposite will not keep people from realizing the truth. All these years of telling people who to vote for has obviously been for specific VAAD needs..

Rabbi Kotler goes on to discuss the MESORAH of Hakaros Hatov (gratitude) that we have to elected officials that "work with us, listen to our point of view, represent us fairly,, and give us the attention WE deserve."

Rabbi Kotler left out what should be done when it is discovered that those elected officials are also stealing from us with the knowledge of those that placed  them into  power.

Aron Kotler also misrepresents the psak of R' Aaron Leib Shteinman, alluding  that an institution that represents Torah Judaism should be allowed to endorse and support a known Meshumad, an apostate,  that is the polar opposite of everything that we as a Jewish nation stands for. A person that R Shteinman personally told me that  it is forbidden to even look upon him. And our "Leader" that speaks for our community, our CEO of the largest Orthodox learning institution brought that very same man to shake hands with R Shteinman knowing all too well that if he told our Gadol Hador who he was touching,  R' aaron Leib would have recoiled in disgust.

Perhaps AMI  magazine should do better research before deciding who speaks for the Jewish people of Lakewood. Perhaps we as a community should do the same. Ask yourselves if any of the people we have been told to vote for all these years have done anything to help US. Ask yourself if now is finally the time for a complete change.

Two people were stabbed in the homeless encampment known as Tent City around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Police are still looking for the person suspected of stabbing a man and a woman at the encampment located off Cedar Bridge Avenue and South Clover Street, Lakewood police Sgt. David Sussman said. The victims did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, but were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for their injuries, he said.

The man was stabbed in his chest and rear end and the woman was stabbed in her left arm and on the right side of her body, Sussman said.

Police didn’t have further details about the incident as of 7 p.m.

On Thursday, a homeless man known as Petey was found dead at the camp. Police said he had been ill and believe his death was natural.

Parking Problems by Satmar Minyan

I work for Dr. Reuven Shanik. I would just like to tell all those men that park in his parking lot without permission that I truly believe that all the davening they do while parked illegally in someone else's parking lot is probably worthless.

The parking lot by Dr Shanik is for patients and pharmacy customers. Very often I have stopped some of you from parking there only to be asked "who are you?" Do I really need to be someone of authority to tell you what the sign already says ? Patient parking only. It is bad enough that you are stealing by parking in the lot that you have no permission to be in, but you also challenge employees when you are asked not to park there. Saying that you are a patient of Dr. Shanik does not help.

There are many people that behave this way, and it will not stop until we start towing cars that do not belong there. This is just a friendly warning. We will be watching you get out of the car at 10 or 11 o'clock with your Tallis bag and will call the towing company. Thank you for understanding.

Lipa Schmeltzer Says-Go To College

In a recent article in the Jewish Press chassidic singing sensation Lipa Schmeltzer announced that he enrolled in Rockland Community College after getting a High school equivalency

“I never got an education other than biblical stuff."

“I never had the opportunity to get an education,” explained the superstar. “It’s not fair what is going on in many communities today. People are getting married yet they have no way of supporting themselves and one day they wake up and realize they can’t manage. Even if someone disagrees with the idea of going to college there are still programs which can provide a college degree so that they can make something of themselves and support their families.”…

But the rabbis who fear things like college can rest somewhat easy – Lipa is also studying for smicha, rabbinic ordination. However, he's doing that through an online program via Skype.

Another Person Dies In Tent City

This morning another grim discovery in Lakewood's growing tent city. A still unnamed 47 year old man was found dead in his tent. The apparent cause was hypothermia otherwise known as freezing to death.

This latest tragedy comes on the heels of the recent awareness that the tent city is growing and something needs to be done for the homeless and the people that live in the area and are affected by the smoke and detritus.

It seems that the Township Committee does not see the urgency in getting the matter resolved. They are relying on lawyers to accomplish that which can easily be accomplished through simple communication between all the parties involved. Without communication and open discussion the problem will continue to grow.

Milk Prices Likely To Soar Due To Politics

Members of the House of Representatives let the five-year farm bill expire at the end of September without a new law to replace the massive measure covering billions of dollars in programs, including food stamps and agriculture subsidies.

As a result, milk prices could jump as high as $6 to $8 per gallon after Jan. 1, when the government will revert to following antiquated 1949 regulations without a farm bill in place.

In the short term, farmers would see a windfall by selling to the government at a higher price, but as the New York Times reports, that would lead to higher prices in stores and less milk available for manufacturing butter and cheese. “I don’t think customers and food processors are going to pay double what they are paying now for dairy products,” said Dean Norton, a dairy farmer and president of the New York Farm Bureau.

It seems like our politicians have absolutely no interest whatsoever in actually governing or any concern for what damage they do to the American public and our economy.

Sounds familiar
