Ľchovod the choshuve oilom,

As you may know, many people wanted to do something special as a zechus ľiylui nishmas my nephew, Hayeled Eliyahu Eliezer z"l ben R' Shabsi Yaakov Yosef Halevi n"y Raitzik, a nine year old boy who was niftar in his sleep on the Erev Shabbos before Purim. Together with Rabbi Mordechai Zions shlit"a, it was decided to continue the Avos U'banim program after Pesach, for Phase 2, as a zechus ľiylui nishmaso.

While the family will cover much of the cost, in order for the program to not be lacking anything, several thousand dollars will still need to be raised. As such, I am appealing that each person that would like to be a partner in this mitzvah kindly send in five dollars, with their tax deductible checks made out to 'Avos U'banim', and mail it to:

Avos U'banim, c/o (my brother) Rabbi Shabsi Raitzik at 414 Yeshiva Plaza, Apartment 4C, Lakewood, New Jersey 08701.
B'ezras HaShem a solid response will be a big chizuk to the family, and also sufficient to cover the cost involved with this project.
Thank you, tizku ľmitzvos, and v'chol hamosef, harei zeh meshubach. May we only share in simchos, vaiter. Chag kosher v'sameiach,
Moshe Raitzik

Hundreds Protest Cuts To Public School Services

LAKEWOOD - Organizers of a rally in the streets of Lakewood say they object to the use of tax money to bus students to private schools.

More than 200 protesters at Lakewood Town Square said the school district plans to make cuts to many programs, including kindergarten, in order to keep providing buses for private school students.

They insist that will hurt public school students by taking away programs many of them depend on.

The Lakewood community includes a large Jewish population, and many question whether potential cuts are based on Hasidic or Orthodox law guiding public school policy.

Demonstrators say Lakewood schools will cut programs Orthodox students don't use, in favor of making sure those students are bused to private school.

Sheila Hernandez says some students don't have much to do at home. "They go after school and they enjoy themselves," she says. "I don't think it's right to have it taken away from us."

The township board of education is going to ask voters to decide on whether they should approve more spending and higher taxes to continue the multimillion-dollar busing program.

Committeeman Warns Public Of Computer Virus On TLS

Committeeman Steven Langert has become a victim of the infamous Cryptolocker Ransomware, and after paying hundreds of dollars in ransom, he’s hoping his experience will save others from the nightmare.

Committeeman Langert told TLS exclusively one of his employees opened an unassuming email on her computer, only to find out it was the Cryptolocker Ransomware. The Ransomware locked up the files, making them unusable, and threatened to delete them if the proper ransom isn’t paid by a specific time. The Cryptolocker nightmare begins as an email from what appears to be a reputable source such as Hewlett Packard or Xerox, with an attachment. The email is actually spoofed and once the attachment is opened it will infect the user’s computer with the malware.

Langert says Cryptolocker required him to pay $400 in ransom to get his files back before the ‘key’ to retrieve them is destroyed. Though he had his files properly backed up, Langert says, “we decided to pay the terrorists.” But the Committeeman hopes others can avoid this dreadful experience. - See more at: http://www.thelakewoodscoop.com/news/2014/04/committeeman-langert-warns-of-cryptolocker-after-falling-victim.html#sthash.RyrPKiK1.dpuf

Police and the Department of Public Works today were in Tent City to mark more tents for removal, Township officials confirm to TLS. Deputy Mayor Albert Akerman – who together with Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein has put much effort into settling the homeless encampment issue in Lakewood, says housing is currently being found for more homeless residents. Once they’re out, their tents will be ripped down.
“We’re currently in the placement stage, and we’ll be tearing down the tents of those placed,” Deputy Mayor Albert Akerman tells TLS. “We’re not chasing anybody out of their tents, unless someone moves in against the consent order,” says Akerman.

Once residents are placed, a large ‘X’ is sprayed onto the tents, marking them for removal by the Township.

In February, the Township tore down dozens of tents which were vacated by placed residents.

About 40 of the approximately 100 residents remain in the encampment, Akerman says. [TLS]
