The Smart Growth plan will be heard tomorrow night at the planning board meeting at 6 pm in the Township auditorium on 3rd street.

This plan is nothing more than an excuse to allow the building of more townhouses on Township owned property. The plan will cost taxpayers millions per year instead of being a tax benefit. If you cannot attend the meeting to make your voice heard please email the members of the planning board and tell them how you feel about them not caring about, or protecting the welfare of our town for the interests of a few builders.

Pls put up a link to the plan , you can get it on the township website. This plan is all about certain connected people profiting while distroying lakewood as we know it. Bmg wants 2500 units on the corporate park, which is 2 and a half times more family's then westgate!!

Steve Langart is looking to re zone the oak st corridor where he silently owns a bunch of properties to multi family and mixed use. The township projects it will bring 20000 new car trips to the area. Lets not sit around while steve rapes lakewood

Do u people want? No growth? Leave all zoning the same? We will run out of housing and prices will soar. No young families will be able to afford to buy a home. Why are you all so selfish. Your own children will benefit by expanding housing.

The world population is growing, if I am right we are almost at 7 billion.
Do you believe in birth control or ethnic cleansing to size down the worlds population?
As the population grows, space gets limited. Take a family who has an extra kid, do the older kids have aright to protest that there will be less room in the yard to play, less room at the table to eat, & less bedroom space?
Lakewood has also had a population growth, a couple who married 22 years ago, & settled in Lakewood, very likely has an average of 7 kids & married couple & and a grandchild, that means a bochur in Yeshiva 22 years ago, who was one person in Lakewood, doubled when he got married, now with his married child & children, they now number eleven. Some aging parents move nearer their children, & some siblings feel left out. Others get chinuch jobs or other jobs & move in, they too have families, so let us add another 5, (it is probably more) you get to 16, between them they have a Mexican worker with a few kids of their own is needed to serve that many people, you may get to around 20.That is unstoppable growth. Are you against it?
Do you really expect the same traffic with a twenty fold population?
Do you believe old parents should not join their kids & people shouldn't have children? Schools shouldn't import melamdim? We shouldn't import doctors? Children who marry Should move out of Lakewood, when they get married because we have no space for them?
Children should not allow their parents to have more children?
If the answer is yes I guess you believe in birth control, that isn't a Torah concept.
Or possibly you are so angry that BMG took a piece of the cake (CedarBridge) which had they not taken it, Langert or Singer would have gotten it free for themselves or some other cronies. You are also peeved that Langert has benefitted from his public office in many queasy legal ways in your opinion at least.
If it wasn't your political foes building, but the township would have sold lots directly to individuals who would have hired their own builders would you really be so angry about it?
Corruption aside, it exists where ever government or politics exists & will not be extinct until Moshiach. That said we desperately need housing for Kneinhora an exploding population, and it does come with crowding, but that is the world we live in.
If traffic really bothers you, why don't you advocate the UEZ money gets spent on a bus service & a light rail, with a subsidized ticket & transfer deal, you would not only stop traffic, but pollution, and may save all of us a lot of money and provide some safety.
Unless you are into birth control, anti Torah & Judaism, then you can't fight fact.
If you are fighting the way the builders obtained their land, you are fighting Stalin & City hall, don't waste your life, if you are really fighting Traffic, then get up & do something about traffic. Cities a lot smaller than Lakewood have operational public transport for years already.

I don't understand why people move out of the city to a nice town and then want to change it into a city environment ,if you like city living stay where you are ,Lakewood was once a nice moderate sized town that was desirable place to live ,having lived here for 40+ years I have to say its not some place I that I now would ever consider moving to . While I understand growth and change are always going to happen ,however even putting the two words in the same sentence (SMART & GROWTH ) is laughable when it comes to Lakewood. Just look around this town ,I ask is there a plan , A RESONDING ~ Y E S ~ build anything and everything you want anywhere you want PERIOD ..............

Was inevitable and unavoidable. Population grows and new housing is developed. The only big mistake was allowing schools in the industrial park. Killed commercial ratables.
