At the first official meeting under his leadership, Mayor Akerman showed that he isn't wasting  any time in getting the job done.

With the help of Lakewood's new purchasing agent, Yehuda Abraham, Akerman was able to save the Township 128 thousand dollars a year off of our 500 thousand dollar electricity bill. Through a reverse bid process, Akerman chose Green Mountain Energy as the winning bidder for the cheapest delivery of energy for township facilities that include the Blue Claws Stadium.

This novel bidding process also saved the town thousands by not going through the usual legalities of the typical bidding process.

One citizen remarked that this was the first time they ever heard an announcement of a money saving idea that didn't have an ulterior motive.

It looks like real change for the better has finally come.

This was put into motion last year by Menasher. If Akerman was a man he would give credit where credit is due instead of pretending this was his initiative.

First of all he did thank Miller. Second of all he shouldn't have thanked him. If Miller wanted to do it he should have made the 3 phone calls himself.
