Going To Ribbon Cuttings And Parlor Meetings Gets You Out Of Jury Duty?

As Reported On local website TLS:

it seems Lakewood's Chief of Police, Rob Lawson felt a need to publicly announce how important and vital he is to the Lakewood community. He provided a copy of his letter being called to jury duty just like every other person might in Lakewood. The point being that it is absurd to assume that someone as integral to the safety of Lakewood as he is cannot be spared for trivial jury duty.

"When the Chief received his first notice in the mail about Jury Duty, he was excused after penning a letter to the Court about his many duties for the town during the Jewish Holiday season, during which the Duty was to take place."

The chief goes on to tell the community how absurd the court system of Ocean County was by repeatedly sending him a summons to duty, ultimately not accepting his excuses and forcing him to (gasp!) report for jury duty.

He ultimately got off of doing his civic duty by claiming that he knows too much about a specific case to be impartial
.Perhaps the chief didn't want to serve while he is still getting paid by taxpayers to be at the beck and call of ALL the citizens of the town he is protecting and serving. He is after all known to be very meticulous about his salary and compensation. Catered food by Greenwald not included.

Chief Lawson tried claiming he's owed back pay for all the sick & vaation time he accumalated to the tune of $800,000.00. Check with Shenky. They should have locked him up with Shenky & Menash Miller. The rest will surface.

How much does he owe us for his ineffective leadership in battling the gangs and allowing drug dealers to own our town? Hint: a lot more than 800 thousand.

I don't get what ur kvetching about? I read the story on TLS and thought it was weird that a police chief would not be able to get out of jury duty.. I wonder how many police chiefs have actually served on jury while on duty??

Lawson owes the Township a lot more than the $800,000.00. He should be forced to retire without benefits.

But the big question remains how to rid the town from Shenky & Menash.?
