It seems that it is open season now for the two New Jersey senate seats. Soon to be nonagenarian Frank Lautenberg will have Cory Booker to contend with in the Democratic primary, and Bob Menendez is now embroiled in a scandal which may not end well for him. Our Democratic Senators are very vulnerable, and no Republicans have stood up to challenge them. But that may all change very soon.

Our own Avi Solomon is considering a run for a Senate seat. Avi ran for the general assembly against two entrenched politicians and received widespread support, losing by a small margin. Now the Rutgers graduate is aspiring to a higher position. There have been many political upsets lately as we have seen total unknowns win elections against venerable career politiciansin other states. While it is rumored that Steven Langert was also considering a run for a Senate seat, most observers agree that Solomon would have a better chance since he has a stellar reputation as a person with strong ideals. If he decides to run, we wish him all the best.
