Judge Throws Out Steve Langert Defamation Suit

After lengthy argument Friday morning, Judge Wellerson granted a motion for summary judgment, dismissing Langert's complaint against the owner of The Lakewood View and Harold Herskowitz for an article revealing his association with Eli Weinstein in business dealings, and Herskowitz writing in an op-ed piece that Langert's excessive gambling may be of a concern to some voters. He found that the statements about Langert's gambling and his association with Weinstein were rhetorical, not false statements of fact, so, as a public figure, Langert could not claim that they were defamatory.

Since this lawsuit was filed there has been a backlash against Steve Langert as people realized that he uses his influence with Lawyers, law enforcement, and public workers, to intimidate and threaten those that criticize him. More on that later.

Of course, he does have the right to appeal.

As of now there is no counterclaim pending. The owner of the Lakewood View could not be reached for comment.

It doesn't matter. Right now EW is probably singing about all of SL's crooked deals along with ally he other guys he did dels with. Then SL will fink on MM. And it will all lead back to AK. Once they see they got nothing to lose by opening there mouths its over. No need for recalls. The whole committee and half the heads of schools will be somewhere else by next year.

Travesty of justice. The judge can't read. You wrote he committed a criminal act without proof. You wrote lies and defamed a person with no regard for the truth. Herschel hershkotits deserves to be slapped with monetary penalties for his recklesness

How did I get mixed into this? I never made up lies about Langert or hid my criticisms about him. Now we see all my criticisms are coming true. He abuses his very fragile position of power to harass the people that are getting in his way. Trust me, I would much rather be his friend and work with him, but I have learned the hard way that there are people with secret agendas that will stab you in the back.

Weinstein implicated Langart this past week, the Feds questioned a cooperating witness in lakewood on Thursday. Looks like Langart is going away for a long time. Where does gindy fit into this?

I noticed that you removed the comments regarding perlperry. Earlier you wrote that sometimes you have no control over comments that come through? So which one is it? If Langert was truly involved with Weinstein (as appears to be the case) it will all come out in the end. Although Lakewood is a big town, everyone knows everyone else's business and Eli had many business associates. So, hopefully Langert's involvement comes to light and he pays for the wrong doings and especially for all of the harm and hurt he has inflicted on people.

Thw Deputy Mayor was talking about him losing the case against HH and a person said something against HH, Someone overheard him and got all bent out of shape and was defending HH.

I was there and nothing happened, this is all made up. Chabad is a very nice shul where everyone respects each other and nothing of this sort happens. There are very strict rules about talking during davening at this shul.

Stop spreading lies about people and a Shul.

I love how people can plan all sorts of evil schemes. Steal from the people. Give to his friends that he needs to stay in power. Hurt innocent people, and then when the knife is at their throat they say, can't we all be friends? You know what? i f enough people get together and complain about any abuse of power,lies,misguidings etc.to the OCEAN COUNTY PROSECUTER'S OFFICE they will investigate him.the problem is one or 2 complaints is not enough.his abuse of power and cheating etc.is enough to have him investigated and he can go away for 10 yrs.if you're all going to just talk,it's worthless,if many get together they will all watch their butts.action speak louder than words.he actually thinks he's g-d and he is'nt.been there done that.
