Onetime camp counselor and english teacher Yosef Kolko has decided to plead guilty in a sexual assault case that many people have been defending him for. Two more alleged victims have now decided to come forward over the weekend which compelled Kolko to plead guilty today.

Kolko, 39, of Geffen Drive, Lakewood, was a counselor at Yachad, a summer camp run by the Yeshiva Bais Hatorah School on Swarthmore Avenue in Lakewood. He also was a teacher at Yeshiva Orchos Chaim in Lakewood.

He is on trial before state Superior Court Judge Francis R. Hodgson, charged with sexually abusing a boy, now 16, when he was 11 and 12, in 2008 and 2009.

Now that new victims have come forward, the trial, which was going to discuss the further abuse that the entire family suffered through to ensure that Kolko does not harm any more children, will be cut short. We will keep you posted on further details as we get more information.

Will the Roshei Yishivos and the other Rabbonim now apologize and make restitution to the victim's family? Not likely.

The tide is QUICKLY turning against these slandereous 'rabbis' who will stop at nothing at PROTECTING sex offenders at the cost of the innocent.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant,i.e. the internet is now exposing these monsters for what they are.

Well, we know the Catholic Church would have just welcomed him with open arms. They would have had him go to confession and called it a day.

does it matter?

Does it matter what religion a child abuser is? What matters is that he is prohibited from harming another child regardless if who will take him.

I certainly hope there are charges filed from the other children. If 3 came forward you know there are more.

it's so sad, and such a shame. although the victims now have justice, will they ever have peace? and only 15 years? he will be 50 when he gets out- earlier with good behavior. when he gets out he'll be looking for revenge I'm sure. prison has yet to cure people of this sickness.

where did it say he's only getting 15 years?

You actually copied my comment from another blog and pasted it on yours to make it seem like you have traffic. How pathetic

I can assure you I have better things to do with my time. If you tell me what comment someone copied I will have it removed. Unless this one is a copy.

Just a thought, not saying the accused is innocent. BUT can it be that Aron Kutler and gang put up 2 kids to come forward so the accused would have no choice but to plead guilty?

If you ask why they would do that, it's simple, they would end up being exposed for intimidation and running the victims family out of town, and other rabbonim would too.

Now no one has to testify or come to trial and all goes away and this person goes to jail and everything else continues.

Just a possibility

What happened all these years? why all of a sudden did these kids come forward? they could have come earlier, why wait until the trial starts?

Something smells here

No one wants to be Nachshon. Even when Nachshon steps in everyone expects him to back out when the water starts rising. Only when the other witnesses saw the news reports of the complainanants sticking to their guns were they willing to be nachshon #2 and #3.

please. kolko could have pled before the trial started, and gotten off with no jail time. no these two new victims are real, and kolko can't argue with them about what he did. ak had nothing to do with this.

My son was in the same camp- i just showed him the guys picture on Friday and asked if he remembered this guy..... thank G-d he didnt know who he was. Very possible the other 2 victims were keeping it a secret until they were asked like i asked my son.

he wasn't wearing a suit when your son saw him. that's why your son doesn't recognize him from this picture.

For what it is worth, I am inclined to believe that the witnesses were real. They may have needed to see the fortitude of the testimony by the victim and father before they were convinced to come forward. At the same time the hanhallah was also waiting to see if the father was willing to go through. They probably only hit the panic button when they realized that now they would also have to beshmutz two more credible rabbonim. So they urged Kolko to plead guilty. However, with the appearance of two witnesses they were glad to have the prosecutor take credit.

If this is true, they threw Kolko under the bus at the worst possible moment. He could have gotten a much better plea bargain a long time ago. But they did accomplish something with the delay. The convinced every other victim that while you can win in court, the price will be expulsion from Lakewood.

As long as Lakewood doesn't change their policy, everyone is better off out of Lakewood. You think this case is so isolated? Anyone remember Shua Finkelstein a"H?
