It has been brought to the attention of the Zoning Board Members that Committeemen Steve Langert is spearheading an effort against Zoning Board Member Elliot Zacks, whose term is up for renewal at the end of this year. Committeeman Langert wants to have him removed from the Board, because his attorney and friend Abe Penzer, Esq, who appears in front of the Zoning Board more than any other attorney, does not like him.
Committeeman Langert has already suggested a replacement for Mr. Zacks. That proposed replacement is none other than his long time friend and neighbor Sam Rabinowitz. This suggestion is very disturbing to some board members and it should be to the public as well. An appointment of this individual would be extremely unethical, based on many conflicts of interest
2) Mr Rabinowitz also makes himself available for hire as a land use consultant to individuals looking to maximize the potential to develop land.
3) Mr Rabinowitz has in the past and still does maintain very close business ties with Brian Flannery a planner and engineer who appears in front of the zoning board representing the overwhelming majority of applicants.
Finally, should Mr Zack’s seat be replaced, one of the current alternate members should be considered. Both of the current alternatives have two years experience as alternative members of the Zoning Board. Anonymous

Again, Committeeman Langert is out of line with his power plays and utter disregard for the residents of Lakewood Township. Let the facts speak for themselves. Your influence counts. Use it! Call or email all members of the Lakewood Township Committee to let them know that you know about Committeeman Langert’s power play to reward his friend at the expense of a caring member of the Zoning Board. Mr. Rabinowitz should not, and cannot be appointed to the Zoning Board because of the above stated conflicts of interest.
Bill Hobday.
