Here we go once again, one hand washes the other. Steven Langert endorses Bob Singer on the radio and Bob Singer returns the favor, politics as usual.

Mr. Senator,
Steven Langert has been on the committee for 6 years now. The only thing Langert has to show for it is cutting approximately 1 million from the EMS services, a life depending service that is extremely important to all residents of Lakewood. Is that what you call heading in the right direction?

Another point you mention in your video is that Steven Langert is the "budget chairman". That may explain why our taxes keep skyrocketing year after year. Thank you for the information the voters need to take to the polls.

Why doesn’t Lakewood have term limits? Is there a way to make term limits in Lakewood?

I too agree that we need change. My taxes keep going up every year and senator singer even mentioned that Committeeman Langert is the budget chairperson so why should should I vote for him.I am on a fixed income and I can’t pay my taxes as it is. Enough!!!

The property taxes are insane. There are hundreds of new rateables every yr & taxes still go up. Not every increase can be answered because of DOE. The committemen are good guys; we just gotta change some policies. And perks.

Everything goes up. Its a matter of controlling how much. From his first term Langert showed the courage to make tough decisions and save us close to 1 million dollars. Seasoned, experienced leadership is more effective than new people and the learning curve they need.

The Primary is June 3rd, which comes out on Erev Shavuos this year, just like it was when Langert ran for reelection 3 years ago against our dear Reb Hershel. This time we need everyone to come out en mass to knock Langert out once and for all. Joel Schwartz is not a loose cannon, and Mike D'elia is a nice old man, but Langert? Man, have you ever crossed the dude? Not a pretty sight. Be smart. It's our only real chance, because unlike Bob, the VAAD doesn't make endorsements in the primary, so we can feel free to vote our conscience. Experience? Langert is one experience we can all do without.

After some further thought, I think we should take a page from Hal Halverson, Langert's last running mate, and do bullet voting. That means to only vote for one candidate, in this case, Joel Schwartz. If you feel you must vote for two, then perhaps you may want to write in our good chaver, Harold Herskowitz. Imagine Joel and Hershel knocking out Langert and D'elia! I would stay up all night on election eve wondering if we finally have the numbers to pull it off! Power to the people? We'll have to wait and see, but let's not have it be any fault of ours for not voting for what's right.

Joel just posted an amazing video in TLS stating his Quality of Life platform. We must come out strong in support of him this June 3rd. It's not every day that an opportunity like this comes along. A solid challenger and a very weak incumbent. Im lo achshav, aimosai?

A solid challenger? Are you kidding me? Schwartz has raised our taxes by over 14 million dollars. That's right. It's a fact and it's in black and white. Two years ago our school taxevy was 70 million this year it's 84 million 20% higher. Schwartz is also responsible for our children sitting on the bus for 90 minutes. That's like commuting to New York. It's obscene. Please spare us all the baloney. You are probably someone Langert caught with his hand in the cookie jar and slapped it away.

Steve, stop acting so ignorant. You know that the BOE finances operates through committee which Joel Schwartz was not on, just as you are the Budget Chairman for the township who is responsible for all the raises in taxes.

So Steve , let's see how many times you dipped your hand in the cookie jar.
1) trying to knock out our EMS so that "someone" can get the contract.
2) getting township jobs for your buddies including town manager Rineman who has no clue.
3) having township properties under-assesed then buying them through your uncle.
4) trying to get "stuff" from people who do business with the township.
5)lowering taxes for select few on the backs of others in order to buy some votes.
This list can go on and on ..... but why would I want to bore people with details of your horrible political career. .....its water under the bridge after June 3rd

Dear Sir,
Focus on the prize! This post is about Langert, and his lack of merit to another term. There's no Bursztyn on the ballot. This is a choice between Joel Schwartz and Steven Langert. Nothing more is necessary to know, as the rest is just fluff. Leave the trivial stuff for Langert's wife, the fashionista, known as the fashion isha.

As much as we need to get rid of Steven Langert the politician, we should net get Steven Langert or his family's personal lives involved.

Steve Langert's personal ethics and family's way of life actually is very demonstrative of how he is as a leader and authoritative figure. I don't see him as a leader, and his values and ethics don't reflect mine, so it indeed is very pertinent in judging him as a candidate.

Vos,
Are you a man or a woman? You sound like a man who is sexist. I don't know what goes on in your head, but there was no attack on Sharon. In response to 'What's going on?' I stated that Bursztyn has nothing to do with Schwartz running for office, and if this individual is into trivial pursuits, then fashion isha is a better blog to follow. You cannot claim that fashion is anything more than that. My goodness, we are just 70 years past WW2, and people forget the role of a father and husband in family life, and how it reflects on that man as a person. Finally, where does cholent and kugel come in at all? What are you smoking?

To mr I want Schwartz etc..... It's interesting to note that not once in any comment have you focused on any issues. Incredible. It just goes to show that you must have something personal against Langert. Why don't you share it with us. Did he stop you from ripping off the taxpayers? Just keep this in mind, be careful what you wish for. The bottom line is that Schwartz has been on the school board for 2+ years and is just as much to blame for our current fiasco as any other board member. He voted on the past two previous budgets which have raised our taxes over 20% AND as chairman of the transportation committee he instituted bus routes of 90 minutes+. In fact there is an email making it's way around the seniors that they should vote for Schwartz because he cut the busing and will work to make further cuts to Jewish mossads. If that is the type of person you want representing you, then by all means you go ahead and vote for him. Any rational sane yeshiva parent should vote for anyone but Schwartz.

Yes I understand. He is upright, honest, fair, and judges everyone equally. Qualities you obviously know nothing about. No wonder you don't want him representing you. Dear last two posts,
You seem hesitant to even write my name! Wow! Now let me share with you an interesting point. I never stated that I want Joel Schwartz to be on the Township Committee. All I want is for him to knock out Langert in the primary. As far as Langert judging fairly, there are many examples where he has publicly shown bias, which is but one of many reasons why he does not deserve another term on the Committee.

Truth is the candidates that I really want aren't running, though I thought one of them was going to, but still, even if Joel Schwartz wins in November, I would rather him over Langert hands down. He is so much more honest, it's truly refreshing. Our Township's budget needs some light shed upon it finally, perhaps with an outside audit. Joel Schwartz would get that done on day one.

What exactly is refreshing? That he'll heap more bills on my back by making me pay for busing? At least until now my taxes were used to pay for that. Now I will have to pay my taxes and for busing? Please, are you Schwartz posting under an assumed name or his sidekick?

One lone wolf on the Township committee can't accomplish anything. If Schwartz & Langert are on the Committee, they can accomplish something.

Mr. Coles is kept on by the Vaad, to blindfold the gullible seniors, time for change, and let the seniors open thy eyes.

Senator Singer allegedly has been setting up corruption schemes in Lakewood, which can entrap Township Committeemen, CEO'S, Vaad Members, etc. The schemes are unethical, shameful & most probably illegal as well.

The history of the Blue Claws stadium and it's unbearable burden to the Lakewood Tax payers. Senator Singer allegedly was in the fore front to bring the Blue Claws team to Lakewood. The Senator was in the forefront of the Stadium, even though he wasn't in the majority. Senator Singers denial doesn't carry any weight, fact V. fiction.

In order to get the Blue Claws approved without opposition from the Yeshiva [VOTERS] religious community, Senator Singer allegedly devised a scheme to "make them an offer they can't refuse". The offer was Cedar bridge Corp Park.

Cedar bridge was put up for open bidding for a "high tech Corp park". The bid proposal was designed and worded to make sure that only a prearranged bidder can meet the criteria.

The contract gave a 35 year tax abatement to the proposed developers.
The contract was flawed in every shape with no protection for the Lakewood tax payers. The cost to the developers was zero, "a gift" in all practicalities.

The Cedar bridge developers were able to sell off (behind the Lakewood tax payers backs) part of the property for some nine million dollars. The Lakewood tax payers should have received those dollars. Where is that money? where did it go to? When in doubt follow the money trail.

In the past 10 years, the Cedar bridge developers were not able to attract any development to the Corp Park, it was flawed from the beginning.

The Cedar bridge Corp park has a value of over one hundred fifty million dollars and it should revert back to the Lakewood tax payers. Lakewood can sell it in parcels to the highest bidder. Lakewood currently is indebted in bonds to the tune of 50 million dollars, which can and should be paid off in its entirety.

We question the ethics, the legalities, of taking from the tax payers without just compensation a property of such magnitude. They even allegedly used illegally UEZ funds for infrastructure of the property. Those funds should have been used for more legitimate purposes.

Now The Senator, Township Committee, NJ State agencies are allegedly contemplating a back door deal to change the zoning to multi use including residential, commercial, etc which would almost double the value.

Cedar bridge was bid as a High Tech Corp park, it never happened- it must revert back to the Lakewood tax payers.

This was all done to get certain individual elected.
In the event that the Township committee decides to proceed to change the zoning and or not have it revert back to the taxpayers, there likely may be a court challenge. The Court may decide to have the entire history of the Blue Claws and Cedar bridge park investigated.

With the latest Court rulings, the Town officials can't hide behind their attorneys and claim innocence.
Does it pass the litmus test or even the smell test?
Is Hanky-Panky more like it in Lakewood?
