Pensions For Public Service?

As was reported before, Senator Robert Singer is one of fifteen legislators that are currently "triple dipping." Along with his current salary from the senate, and the MUA, he receives a pension of $34,404 from PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System )as a retiree of multiple governmental agencies.

This pension was based on a yearly salary of $74,040. If the pension were for his service on the Township Committee it would be based on $22,000 alone. The only way it could be based on such a high salary is if the calculation includes his senate salary as well. Senator Singer remains a Senator while getting a pension for a job that he has officially retired from. And this is a republican that supposedly is standing behind Governor Christie in support of pension reform for public employees.

A pension is ONLY from a job one retires from. OOOOOH he is getting a pension. He works for 20 +++++ years and is entitled to it. What is wrong with you? Oh yeah I forgot , you are a member of the LSC so you don't have to make a living. Can't anyone of you "thousand of admirers" see the insolence of the web master? Whos a coward now? not posting my comment.

HH, who said Bob is counting his senate salary to calculate his pension? Perhaps he's counting money he earned annually in bribes and kickbacks STRICTLY FROM LAKEWOOD RESIDENTS. He didn't count First Energy or Birdsall or dozens of other non-Lakewood "donors". Just saying.

If the only dirt you can come up with on Herschel is your same ol' lie about a deal you pretend not to understand, that's pretty impressive. You won't find Herschel gambling, talking to friendly people in A.C., killing and maiming pedestrians while driving drunk, soliciting bribes, giving cronies six figure no show jobs, having insane conflicts of interest as a politician/developer/investor in local real estate, owning numerous properties under different relatives names, using children as pawns to shake down bloggers and critics, creating a culture of greed and love of honor and wealth, organizing visits to Israeli gedolim for meshumadim, or being a sleazy jerk.
