Senator Michael Crapo, a Republican who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, does not plan to fight the charges when he appears in court next week, a spokesman said.
Police officials have said Mr. Crapo registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.11 percent when he was pulled over after running a red light early Sunday in the Washington suburb of Alexandria, Va. “He does not plan to contest the charges,” said a spokesman, Lindsay Nothern, who added that Mr. Crapo has consulted with a Virginia lawyer in preparation for his court hearing.
Mr. Crapo has apologized and taken responsibility for the incident in a statement, but he has not spoken publicly about the arrest.
