Starbucks, the first big chain to offer gourmet coffee has decided to offer a reusable plastic coffee cup for sale. For one dollar you can buy the cup and receive 10 cents off of any coffee you buy when you provide the barista with your cup. This would pay for the cup after ten purchases. If you then use the cup another 100 times that will be a savings of 10 dollars!!!
The corporation hopes that this will help curb the environmental impact of all those thrown away cups.
Nobody has figured out what the cost is of cleaning out a coffee stained cup that has been sitting in your car all day what the environmental impact would be pr whether tou want to risk having your cup mixed up with someone elses but a dollar for a plastic cup that you probably won't use more than once seems like a good deal.
