Tent City Census Begins-A Final Resolution

The court ordered census of the Tent city residents has begun. Mayor Akerman has worked together with township advocate Mike McNeil to accomplish what nobody has been able to. They have begun the process of documenting every current resident of tent city.

Taking a census of the over 120 current residents will allow those in the census to stay until an alternative residence is found. At the same time it will make sure that no new residents make a new home in tent city. This will ensure a quick resolution to the tent city issue that has been a sore subject for the last five years. It will also ensure that the homeless people living in the forest will be given counseling and adequate shelter.

Thank you Mayor Akerman and Mr McNeil for working tirelessly to solve this issue once and for all. Your sensitivity and wise handling of the problem will hopefully repair the previous mishandling which gave a bad image to our town.

"A Final Resolution" - that's merely a fantasy in the minds of the Lakewood government bureaucrats.

Not all Tent City residents are a party to that "one year of free housing" agreement. I’m not. (I've been a Tent City resident since March 1st, 2013.)

I'm sorry.. I've been following this case for a few years now.. Attending court hearings and Town Hall meetings! The words sensitivity and wise handling by any of the Lakewood powers that be , have been far and absent in most dealings with TC
